I Was Thinking About Something Else

That pretty much sums up my life nowadays. I will be doing something, walking into a room or driving, and I will go askew. Someone will inevitably ask at that same moment, "What are you doing?". Which will confuse me and I can only respond, "Yeah, well...I was thinking about something else".

"We Can Dance If We Want to"

Yes Zoot, the header is for you in lieu of what would be now a belated birthday gift, because really, you just can't get enough Men Without Hats and Safety Dance. Since I know you like to check early, I'm assured it's going to be running in the background all day.
In other news...I was waiting for Quantum Leap to come on and I'm channel surfing and lo and behold I come upon Northern Exposure! I don't know if it was a one-time deal or the Hallmark Channel is running the series again. As it is one of the all time great quirk shows with an outstanding cast, I would be mighty pleased if Hallmark was going to run it again. Between the '80's and '90's Brand & Falsey and David E. Kelly produced some of the best oddball, many an inside joke, quirkfest, the likes of; Northern Exposure, Picket Fences, St.Elsewhere, and Ally Mcbeal. Many treats.
I recently saw Knockaround Guys (Barry Pepper, Vin Diesel, Seth Green, Dennis Hopper, John Malkovich). It was apparently made around 2000, then shelved because it was before Vin Diesel, and Barry Pepper had real notariety and the studio didn't want to take a chance on unknowns. So then they become knowns. The movie came out around 2002. I wanted to see it. Didn't get a chance too. It is now out on video and I finally get to see it. Now I'm thinking have I oversold it now in my head and now it's gonna suck. No...I find it quite good. Good acting, tight screenplay, and John Malkovich, 'nuf said.

The Italian Job is on my short list to see.

And before I go, everybody join in:

Men Without Hats

Safety Dance Lyrics

S-s-s-s A-a-a-a F-f-f-f E-e-e-e T-t-t-t Y-y-y-y
Safe, dance!

[Spoken]
We can dance if we want to
We can leave your friends behind
'Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance
Well they're no friends of mine
I say, we can go where we want to
A place where they will never find
And we can act like we come from out of this world
Leave the real one far behind
And we can dance

[Sung]
We can dance if we want to
We can leave your friends behind
'Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance
Well they're no friends of mine
I say, we can go where we want to
A place where they will never find
And we can act like we come from out of this world
Leave the real one far behind
And we can dance
Danc¨¦e!

We can go when we want to
The night is young and so am I
And we can dress real neat from our hats to our feet
And surprise 'em with the victory cry
Say, we can act if want to
If we don't nobody will
And you can act real rude and totally removed
And I can act like an imbecile

[Refrain]
I say, we can dance, we can dance
Everything out of control
We can dance, we can dance
We're doing it from wall to wall
We can dance, we can dance
Everybody look at your hands
We can dance, we can dance
Everybody takin' the cha-a-a-ance

Safety dance
Is it safe to dance
Is it safe to dance

S-s-s-s A-a-a-a F-f-f-f E-e-e-e T-t-t-t Y-y-y-y
Safe, dance!

We can dance if we want to
We've got all your life and mine
As long as we abuse it, never gonna lose it
Everything'll work out right
I say, we can dance if we want to
We can leave your friends behind
'Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance
Well they're no friends of mine

[Refrain]

Is it safe to dance, oh is it safe to dance [6x]
Is it safe to dance
